Lake Wildwood's Arrowhead Lodge is available to members for parties or receptions. Recently refurbished, it now offers a spacious kitchen for caterers, dance floor, seating for diners as well as casual seating around the fireplace. Additionally there are scenic decks, picnic and grilling areas outside with the beach and marina in close proximity. Arrangements for renting the lodge depend on the size and type of party you plan. Its recommended capacity is 150 people for sit down service and dancing. Free rentals are possible under certain conditions - gatherings of under 50 without live/loud music, no kitchen, and where you don't mind if lodge is open to other members wandering in and out. Often activities for the children, birthday parties, boy scout meetings, team celebrations or impromptu affairs like a great sledding day fall into this category. Just pick up the key at the gate. Full rentals and mini rentals for invitation only events vary in price according to the functions of the occasion. The Lodge is generally not rentable summer week ends or holidays so it can remain open to all members during those times.
Boat slips can be rented seasonally at the marina. Several new slips were added in Spring 2001 but demand continues to rise. You are advised to call LWA office and enter your name in the annual drawing to be eligible to rent at $250. per season.
The marina is equipped with a bait house and fish cleaning facility, gas pump, canoe and paddle boat rentals and a snack shack. A pavilion for sheltered picnicking can be reserved for members' special events.
LWA recently cleared a hiking trail through some beautiful wooded ravines and park zoned meadow land on the north side of the development. Some members have found the deer packed territory a perfect area for cross country skiing. We anticipate the return of Condit's Horseback Riding week ends in the future on the same trail.
An outdoor storage area for boats, campers etc. can be found east of the Association office offering a cheap easy alternative to towing equipment back and forth from home every week end.
Tennis courts, a basketball court, shuffleboard and horseshoe pits are located near the pool. Golfers can work with woods, irons and wedges on the 3 hole practice range in front of the dam. (Also within a 15 mile radius are courses in McNabb, Henry, Washburn, Toluca & Lacon.)
Scheduled throughout the year are many community events like the Christmas party, October Fest, Halloween Haunted House, August Fish Fry and Corn Boil, New Year's Eve for the Family etc.
